On March 27, 2017, the two turtles who live in the HS Science Lab were transferred to their new tank, which was paid for by the Gateway Education Foundation. These two turtles were adopted by the science department years ago when students who owned them were leaving for college/military service. They have since outgrown their tank, and needed a new one or needed to be put down. The woodworking shop students built the platform for the new tank. This film shows the turtles trying out their new home! Their story will be used as an important lesson on the responsibilities of ownership through a pet's lifetime--these turtles are 10-15 years old now and can live up to 40 years.
